STUDS Bear & Leather Bar isn't just a bar.

Born in Puerto Vallarta's Zona Romántica, STUDS began with a simple idea: create a place where the bear and leather communities could feel completely at home.

What started as Puerto Vallarta's first dedicated bear and leather bar has grown into something much bigger—a multi-level nightlife destination, a meeting point for international travelers and locals, and an increasingly recognizable name within Mexico's LGBTQ+ nightlife culture.

Today, STUDS welcomes men from around the world who come looking for music, connection, community, nightlife, leather, fetish, bears, and a little trouble.

And we're perfectly okay with that.

MORE THAN A BAR

STUDS lives in the heart of Zona Romántica, one of the most recognizable LGBTQ+ neighborhoods in Mexico.

That location isn't accidental.

Puerto Vallarta has spent decades building a reputation as one of the world's great LGBTQ+ travel destinations. STUDS is part of the next chapter of that story.

We believe gay nightlife in Mexico should have spaces that reflect the diversity of the men who come here.

STUDS has evolved considerably since opening.

What began as a single-floor concept has grown into a three-level nightlife experience, with each space offering its own personality.

LEVEL ONE — THE SOCIAL FLOOR

With DJs, go-go dancers, themed nights and a constantly changing crowd, this is where STUDS turns from bar into nightlife experience.

The open-air rooftop brings something completely different.

A place to step away from the intensity downstairs without actually leaving the party.

As the night progresses, the rooftop becomes another part of the STUDS experience—one that feels distinctly Puerto Vallarta.

STUDS has always been local.

But our audience isn't.

Every season, men arrive in Puerto Vallarta from across Mexico, the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe and beyond.

For some, STUDS becomes part of their vacation.

For others, it becomes part of their annual return to Puerto Vallarta.

And for many locals, it's simply home.

That combination is important to us.

We don't want to be a bar that only serves tourists.

And we don't want to be a bar that only serves locals.

We want to be the place where the two meet.

That's part of what makes Puerto Vallarta special.

FOUR YEARS AND STILL GROWING

STUDS reached its fourth anniversary in 2026—a milestone that reflects just how quickly the brand has evolved since opening.

In only a few years, STUDS has expanded physically, developed new event concepts, grown its programming, built new media and production initiatives, and continued to establish itself within Puerto Vallarta's nightlife landscape.
